Without being a reason for, it is either a symptom of how far we’ve fallen or evidence that our accomplishments and the reasons behind them were never as lofty as we like to think they are. Collectively, we invest our resources only if the return can please our ego. Collectively, we think not of the future, but of lunch break. Collectively, we act not for our world, not for our countries, not even for our friends and families, rather we attempt to fallicize our collective and bureaucratize its decisions only in service to our personal addictions to instant emotional gratification.
