fyi I know who you are.

Yes, I think bad things can happen as a result. I've had my fair share of scary 'fans' but I don't let that hold me back. Nor should you. Limiting our success because of fear is just silly when you think about it. Crossing paths with a jerk/stalker/lifeless-fuck can happen anytime, anywhere. Trying to avoid that kind of thing by giving up something that could actually benefit us just doesn't make sense.

And that pretty much says, "No, don't worry about it". So, to at least give you some worthwhile advice, I simply suggest not letting people get too close. Show your dominance in all things regarding you and like puppies they usually acknowledge your superiority. If you sense someone is getting to pushy, just start ignoring them - this ALWAYS works for me. All they really want is your attention anyway.

Hurr. My most ardent evangalist, I tried being their friend... things were great for 5 years and then they went nuts and stalked me. Fortunately it all stayed online, but I notice you mention "marketing yoursef" (as a person). Can't that result in BAD things happening?

On Podcasts - I would probably find a partner to Skype with. Ubercaster's getting okay in being able to record both your own and Skype audio simultaneously. Anywhere else and you'll get a nasty echo.

Will and I would just record our own audio separately, then e-mail it to whomever's turn it is to edit, use Audacity to edit it. For a mostly spoken-word podcast, it works well enough. Though if it's a one-man show, probably best to never go longer than fifteen minutes. Two-man show, forty-five should be the target. Any longer than that, unless you have a built-in audience of at least a couple hundred (which is still small to podcast standards), and you'll probably get told that it's too long. Shorter's always better.

Hey, Eric,

Yeah, we decided to let Misnomer go. Libsyn increased the cost of hosting and Will was moving to Los Angeles. We're currently working on a script together - we just bought some sweet equipment for the job once we're done writing - and doing some networking. (The show, obviously, helped us with some of that.) We may do more eps later, but probably just hosting on my own site, as it seems like our smaller listener base has not grown enough to really put any strain on our bandwidth needs.

Anyway, glad you enjoyed the show, and we'll probably record here and there once Will's up and running and we actually have something to talk about. It usually happens when we're writing, and, well, that requires us to actually WRITE first.

Thanks for the support! Keep in touch.
