Euni the Unicorn Meets Lackluster World

Back in March at S.P.A.C.E., I approached my table to begin setup and to my surprise were a couple of packages wrapped in brown craft paper along with a sealed envelope labeled to “Mr. Adams” with the simple instructions to open the packages first.

I did so. Inside were the following pieces of original art, framed:

EUNI THE UNICORN is a character/mini-comic created by my friend, Kris Lachowski. Knowing I was a fan, Kris did these fantastic pages for me as a congratulations for finishing LACKLUSTER WORLD. It’s a little odd seeing anything from LW in color, but Kris may be unknowingly setting a precedent for things to come in my next comics project. More on that after I get this last issue of LW of finished and shipped off to everyone.

Exit Through The Gift Shop

This weekend, I finally caught up to watching EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP. It’s a fantastic documentary about the street art movement, its big players, and the birth of its first celebrity hack. Here’s the first five minutes…

I admit I question whether or not this documentary is fiction. The so-called filmmaker/documentarian, Thierry Guetta, attempts to make a film about the notorious street artist, Banksy, and others, but instead becomes the subject of the film as Banksy turns the camera back on Thierry to reveal him as a hack artist. The story is right on the edge of believability and I think I am content with that. It’s more interesting to not know.

Considering my comic book series, LACKLUSTER WORLD, heavily showcases street art and its effects on urban populations, and since you likely read and enjoy my comics, I thought I would bring EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP to your attention.
