SEQUENTIAL SMARTS
That thing I teased about?
Here’s the first in what is my new weekly column about Marketing Comics at Newsarama.com…You’re a comic creator. On the whole, you and others like you tend to have an abhorrent understanding of all things business. Your minds are preoccupied with your artistic passions or the deeper meanings behind your craft [...]

Hey comic people! You’re smart, right?
Tomorrow, you get smarter…
Or should I say this morning, you get smarter? It is pretty late.
Yes. This is a tease. -
Still Under Construction
Now is when I ramble on about uninteresting things:
I’m about 80% complete with the updates I want to make to this site. The two largest components are finished - 1) adjusting to a three-column layout and 2) creating some non-blog related pages (comics, design, links, contact). The majority of remaining work is plugging [...] -
Site Maintenance
I’m working on site upgrades/changes today and tomorrow. Expect some weirdness to occur here.

No MoCCA For Me

“I Read Comics”
Here’s a fantastic review of Lackluster World by the lovely Lene on the I Read Comics podcast.
Small disclaimer: Lene does some ranting at the begining of this particular podcast, which she herself pointed out as possibly being grating. If you just want to hear her sings songs of praise, skip ahead to 12:10. -
PLUG: March of the Bonus Army
My uncle Bob has a new documentary airing Monday, May 29 at 10:30 on PBS. (check local listings)
It’s called The March of Bonus Army.
In the past he’s done Tesla: Master of Lightning and Korean War Stories for which he won the 2002 Emmy for Outstanding Historical Documentary. -
Ova Looven
Four years ago I discovered the band Antarctica and thier album 81:03. I distinctly remember first hearing the song Absence it on the Live365 station, the London Undergound (now defunct).
I bought the CD and it has remained one of my favorite albums ever since. It has never left my “inspiration” playlist. Anyway, [...] -
2 Days Away: S.P.A.C.E
Don’t forget. SPACE is Saturday.
I’ll be hosting the “Business of Comics” with guests: Pam Bliss, Allen Freeman, Paul Hornschemeier and Rafer Roberts. We be talking about the expected production/distribution stuff, but I’m hoping for a heavy emphasis on on marketing/promotion. It runs from 11:00AM to NOON. -
They Are Made Out of Meat
“That’s what I’m trying to tell you. Meat made the machines.”
